Unfortunately Mutya’s brilliant debut single ‘Real Girl’ didn’t make it to the final round of voting for Brits Best Single but big thanks to everyone who voted and showed Mutya their support. There are only a few days left of voting in the first round of the British Single category at the 2008 Brit Awards.  As you now Mutya’s ‘Real Girl’  is nominated for British Single and to secure her a place in the next round we need as many votes bewtween now and Thursday.

The live Brits event is on a countdown.  After Thursday the remaining songs will battle it out in a knockout round each day with the winner being chosen on the night of the Brits next Wednesday.

The nominations for the 2008 Brit Awards were announced last night at a launch party in London’s Roundhouse and Mutya is up for a well deserved nomination for her debut track ‘Real Girl’ in the British Single category.

The category is voted for by The Public and Voting has already started.

There will be 4 rounds of voting in this tough category and the artist with the fewest votes at the end of each round will be eliminated, so we are looking to you to get involved and start voting now.  All you need to do is register on the official Brit Awards website here :

Mutya’s had a great fledgling year as a solo artist; scoring No. 1 airplay records, supporting mega star Prince and duetting with George Michael and Amy Winehouse. She’s held her own as a solo star and this Brit nomination is a great nod to her achievements so far. Interestingly she’s up against former band mates Sugababes in the same category along with Mika, Mark Ronson, Take That and Kate Nash among others. Hop over to the Brits website to take a look.

2007 was a big year for Mutya. It’s no mean feat to leave the UK’s biggest girlband and make it a success, but that’s exactly what Mutya Buena managed last year with 3 hits single, two No. 1 airplay records and a gold album under her belt.
